We are looking to fill the position of Senior SW Engineer — Distributed Systems.

Overview of the Role:
As a member of the ViVOtech technical team, the Sr SW Engineer, Distributed Systems role is an anchor role for the software development group. The individual will be a team leader for a small number of engineers that develop both web and mobile applications.

Components of the role include:

• Senior implementer of ViVOtech software products (70% of the role)
• Software architect and designer for products
• Team leader

Requirements and Selection Criteria:
Required experience:

• 7+ years experience
• Deep experience in large-scale distributed systems, multi‐threaded architectures, and database integration
• Some experience with performance engineering, especially as it relates to distributed transactions
• Proficient in Java and Spring framework
• Integration experience with web services (SOAP/WS-*, RESTful)
• Has managed a small team of developers and has acted as a mentor
• Strong communication skills

Desired experience:

• Development experience for a true SW product company
• J2EE programming (JMS, JPA, JAX-*, EJB, Servlets)
• Has built/used event-based enterprise systems/applications, business process
• management tools, or publish/subscribe systems/applications
• C++ programming experience
• Has experience writing or contributing to SW specifications

Education:
MS/PhD Computer Science
