Don Kingsborough, Director

Donald Kingsborough is a member of the Board of Directors of ViVOtech. Mr. Kingsborough is President and Chief Executive Officer of Blackhawk Network, which he founded in 2001. Since that time, he has established Blackhawk Network as the definitive leader in sales of third-party prepaid card products.

Prior to establishing Blackhawk Network, Mr. Kingsborough founded and served as chief executive officer of toy manufacturer Worlds of Wonder, Inc., where he created a multi-million-dollar new industry category and propelled this start-up business to one of the nation’s fastest growing companies in just two years. He developed an innovative approach to product development and marketing that resulted in first-year sales of $93 million and more than $320 million in the company’s second year. Mr. Kingsborough successfully introduced Teddy Ruxpin and Lazer Tag, which each became the top-selling toy for their respective introduction year—an unprecedented accomplishment in the industry.

Prior to Worlds of Wonder, Mr. Kingsborough also served as president of the consumer products division at Atari Corporation, where he played a key role in the development and introduction of new products, marketing strategies and innovation efforts for Atari products. Mr. Kingsborough’s successful career at Atari resulted in a revenue increase from several million dollars to more than $1.5 billion in less than five years. He led the introduction of the sales phenomenon Nintendo to America through an exclusive four-year sales and marketing agreement, during which period sales for Nintendo rose from zero to more than $2 billion.

Mr. Kingsborough has been recognized for his many outstanding career achievements, including Venture Magazine’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the Outstanding Contribution Award for the Private Sector from President Ronald Reagan. His marketing achievements have been chronicled in the Harvard Business Review and numerous business books.
